The chairs have been put away, the food eaten and the beer cans in the bin – Create is over and we all had a fantastic night! We would like to thank our awesome speakers, Richard Torble, Deborah Turner and Zoe Cairns for coming along and inspiring the audience, and also, a big thank you to everybody who came along.

First up we had Richard Torble – professional headshot photographer – and he brought his partner in crime Matisse Martin with him. After explaining what makes the perfect headshot and why an iPhone selfie is not acceptable for LinkedIn, Matisse showed off her expertise about how she prepares some of Richard’s clients before to help them feel more relaxed in front of the camera. It was definitely a unique take on getting the perfect headshot, but Richard demonstrated that it clearly works!

Next up was Deborah Turner of You Image Consultancy, a surveyor turned personal branding expert who spoke about what to wear to wow at work. Did you know the average person, male and female, takes 20-30 minutes to decide what to wear? Plus it also takes 7 seconds for somebody to make up their mind about you face to face, and only 3 online! Crazy! Deborah explained how tweaking your professional look to reflect your (or your business’) core values can be difficult, but it can be done.

And last but not least was Zoe Cairns, Social Media Superstar! Zoe was letting our audience know how they can start using social media well by creating engaging content and connecting with influencers in your industry. Did you know that videos and pictures get 33% more engagement than their plain-text counterparts? Zoe’s recommendation for Social Media is: “content, influencers, engage”.
