Expert tips to help you get the most of your break

Research has shown that when taking your break, you should separate your work entirely. It sound counter-productive, doing less means doing more, but research states that cutting yourself off will keep you feeling refreshed and can prevent burnout.

Entrepreneurs, especially when starting out, often suffer burnout as they are working themselves too hard. Usually there is lack of sleep, caffeine overload and stress levels are to the max. This decreases your productivity level as it can make you ill, feel sluggish or like you’re stuck in a rut.

Take Regular Breaks

Although this may sound odd but taking regular breaks can improve work output. It’s recommended taking a break from a computer screen every hour for five minutes. Whilst you take this break, try not to think about work. Turn your thoughts somewhere else and take time to relax your mind.

Meditate

Meditation can work wonders for relaxation, but not that many people do it. It’s not seen as part of Western culture and so some don’t feel it to be relevant to their lives, but they’re wrong. By taking just ten minutes out of your day to meditate you can increase creativity, feel more confident in yourself and reduce your stress levels. Get A Portable Hobby

Have you got a hobby that you can carry in your bag that you can pull out on your lunch break? Things like cross stitch, excercise or even coloring books can help take your mind off the stress of work. Find what you enjoy and incorporate it into your break.

Do Nothing

If these options still aren’t for you then just do nothing. Find your chillout area, preferably away from your desk and literally just do nothing. Close your eyes and just think about nothing, taking time out to do this is essential, everybody needs some me time.
